One of the largest employers in the region, NUH employs around 14,500 people at Queens Medical Centre (QMC), Nottingham City Hospital and Ropewalk House. The QMC is the emergency care site, where the Emergency Department (A&E), the East Midlands Major Trauma Centre and Nottingham Children's Hospital are located.  Nottingham City Hospital is the planned care site, where the cancer centre, heart centre and stroke services are based. Ropewalk House is where we provide a range of outpatient services, including hearing services.  In total there are 80 wards and 1,700 beds.

NUH has a national and international reputation for many of our specialist services, including stroke, renal, neurosciences, cancer services and trauma. It is at the forefront of many research programmes and new surgical procedures. In partnership with the University of Nottingham, we operate two NIHR (National Institute for Health Research) Biomedical Research Units - in hearing and deafness and in digestive diseases.

Being based in the major Acute Teaching Hospital CHEATA enjoys easy access to all clinical services, including Healthcare of the Older Person Wards and Clinical Rooms.
