CHEATA and Medilink East Midlands have teamed up again to bring you another great workshop - How to make your medical device NHS ready. This year, we are focussing on presenting case studies to really demonstrate how we impact and add value for our clients. The date is 5th July with the venue still to be confirmed and more details to follow in the Medilink website. The workshop is ERDF-funded so will be a free to attend event.

The University of Nottingham and the Centre for Healthcare Technologies are hosting the next Grand Challenge Workshop as part of the Cyclops Healthcare Network (click for more details). CHEATA is a service partner for the Cyclops Network and both Sarah Bolton and Beth Beeson will be in attendance.

The event (click for more details) will run on Thursday 11th and Friday 12th January at the University's Jubilee Conference Centre. The Cyclops Healthcare Network is an EPSCR funded joint collaboration between the Universities of Nottingham, Oxford and Warwick that is exploring the potential for the closed loop control approach to provide optimised treatment for each patient and will significantly improve patient outcomes across a range of medical conditions.

Last year, Prof Dan Clark gave a presentation at the MedTech expo at the Ricoh Arena.

The Centre for Healthcare Technologies, of which CHEATA is an integral part, won the Developing Partnerships to Improve Outcomes award at the NHS England Chief Scientific Officers Award ceremony at the Royal Society, London on Monday 5th March 2018. Prof Dan Clark was there to pick the award from HRH Princess Anne.

CHEATA will be exhibiting at East Midlands AHSN latest event, Today’s Challenges, Tomorrow’s Opportunities: Transforming Healthcare Through Innovation and Leadership for Change held at Trent Vineyard Conference Centre, Easter Park, Lenton Lane, NG7 2PX on Friday 25th November 2017. It promises to be a great event with 2 inspiring speakers - Dr Kevin Fong on the future of the NHS and Lieutenant Colonel Chris Gibson sharing his fascinating insights into disruptive innovation lessons and a leadership toolkit adapted for NHS Trusts by those working in the military

CHEATA client Coloplast are celebrating a significant milestone for their Peristeen product. NICE have published a Medical Technology Guidance document, MTG36, on the use of Peristeen, an anal irrigation device, by people who suffer bowel dysfunction.

Platelet Solutions Ltd, a Nottingham-based SME, was one of CHEATAs very first commercial clients. We assisted them with a regulatory review of their platelet fixing kits (click here for the case study) and they announced on Friday 20th October that their product now carries the CE mark. Congratulations on achieving CE mark certification!

 

CHEATA have been invited to speak at the NIHR Roadshow event for MedTech SMEs hosted by Medilink East Midlands on Tuesday 6th February 2018 at the Park Inn Hotel, Nottingham.

The event will give MedTech SMEs the opportunity to find out how the NIHR can support them to develop their projects and find collaborators and others with the relevant expertise. There is also an opportunity for 1-2-1 meetings with specific individuals as well as a round table event.
